Iza Calzado tells Angel Guardian on playing Sang'gre Deia: 'You got this!'

The original Sang'gre Amihan, Iza Calzado, expressed her all-out support for the next keeper of the Brilyante ng Hangin, Angel Guardian!

On Tuesday's "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," Iza and Angel shared the screen together as they did a quick skit, playing their roles.

Following their quick acting sample, Iza told Angel, "We wish you all the best! You got this!"

In the same interview, Iza recalled how empowering "Encantadia" was for women.

"It was women empowerment before it was even a thing. We had no idea. We were so young. Ang galing pala. And we just knew na 'Grabe, ang galing ng show natin 'no? Hindi love team 'yung bentahan. Apat na babae,'" she said.

"And ang hirap nun ha? Because competition is real. And we had to really keep grounding ourselves [na] 'Magkakasama tayo dito,'" Iza added.

Earlier, Angel made a special vow to Iza, promising that she would take care of her role as Deia in "Sang'gre." The character's name is from Iza Calzado's nine-month-old daughter, Deia Amihan.

"Thank you for being you, a very warm and wonderful person. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, compassion and words of encouragement to me with portraying this role," Angel said.

Angel also promised that she would honor the name of Iza's baby.

She will be joining Bianca Umali, Faith Da Silva, and Kelvin Miranda as the new generation of Sang'gres.
