SB19 members drop 'SB19' from Instagram handles, A'TIN now refers to the group as 'MAHALIMA'

SB19 fans now refer to the group as Mahalima

Is P-Pop boy group SB19 changing their group name?

This question surfaced when fans noticed that all five members – Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin – removed "SB19" from their Instagram handles and bios.

Speculations intensified during a performance at "Fusion: The Philippine Music Festival" on November 11, where event organizers used “MAHALIMA” in a post featuring all five members.

In June 2023, the group announced their departure from talent management company ShowBT, followed by the establishment of their own company, 1Z Entertainment, with Pablo as the chief executive officer.

According to an article on PEP, ShowBT not only owns the trademark for the name "SB19" but also holds the rights to their songs.

A quick search on the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines website revealed that SB19 is a registered trademark owned by ShowBT Philippines Corp., set to expire on January 3, 2031, and listed under classifications 9 and 41, involving downloadable video recordings featuring music, downloadable digital music, and entertainment.

Given their separation from ShowBT, fans believe the group can no longer use the name and logo of SB19, leading to recent changes on their social media accounts and introductions during performances.

GMA News Online reached out to the group for a statement, but they have yet to reply as of posting.

Despite these developments, their fans promise to stay with them and continue supporting the group’s projects.

On November 14, the P-Pop group also announced the cancellation of their "PAGTATAG! World Tour" in Singapore through the official Facebook page of 1Z Entertainment.

The group’s dedicated fan base, “A’TIN,” fully understands the cancellation, wishing nothing but the best for the boys and their health.

Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin have been making waves not just in the Philippines but also around the globe. Stars have been posting their "GENTO" covers and the group also made their US TV guesting debut on "Good Day New York" in 2022.
