Pia Wurtzbazch won’t be able to go to El Salvador for this year’s Miss Universe pageant due to work commitments but in her Instagram broadcast channel dubbed “Life Updates with Pia,” the Miss Universe 2015 said she is "supporting our girl from afar."

“I’m focusing on a few things now, and El Salvador is just so far away,” she wrote.

“I can’t commit to leaving my work at this stage,” she added. “I gotta keep grinding, haha, but I am supporting our girl from afar.”

In an earlier update on her channel, Pia expressed her joy at seeing Michelle Dee’s strong stance on Miss Universe.

She added she couldn’t wait to see all the outfits, interviews, and behind-the-scenes moments in the competition.

“Ang lakas natin!! Nakakakilig!” she said.

Pia also said Michelle shines in the competition as early as pre-coronation activities.

“And remember, as Queen Taylor said, people throw rocks at things that shine!” she said.

“But we don’t bash back because we let the work speak for itself,” she added. “Confident tayo. And Michelle shines!”

Michelle has been participating in Miss Universe’s preliminary activities in El Salvador, where she has been serving head-turning looks one after another.

She is vying for the Philippines’ fifth Miss Universe crown with an advocacy for autism awareness.

The Miss Universe coronation night is set for November 18, where Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray will serve as a backstage correspondent.
