Yassi Pressman makes debut in 'Black Rider' as 'Bane'
“Black Rider” had an intense pilot week, to say the least.
After meeting Elias Guerrero, played by Kapuso Primetime Action Hero Ruru Madrid, and seeing him lose his family in the first few episodes, this week will introduce new characters and see the “Black Rider” finally start to seek justice for his loved ones.
As mentioned in Nelson Canlas’ report on “24 Oras,” Monday, Yassi Pressman’s character, “Bane” was introduced tonight.
“I’m very excited super excited po syempre lagi pong kinakaban, lagi po kapag merong mga ganyan, kasi bago pong proyekto, sana magustuhan ng mga tao. Masayang masaya po ako dahil nakikita ko’yung comments nila sa mga lumabas po last week,” Yassi said.
[I’m very excited, really excited of course, I'm always nervous whenever there's something like this, because it's a new project, I hope people will like it. I'm very happy because I see their comments on what came out last week.]
Bane works in Quiapo and is also a pickpocket who will cross paths with Elias.
Aside from excitement, the actress admitted that she also can’t help but feel pressured.
“Siyempre lagi naman merong ganoon pressure pero ang masaya nun, meron pong pressure, meron din pong challenge.”
[Of course, there's always that pressure, but the happy part is, with pressure, comes a challenge as well.]
Will Elias find love again in Bane? Both Ruru and Yassi said that it’s something fans should look forward to.
“Maganda din po na sa Black Rider ipapakita ang survival mode ng mga Pilipino, ‘yun talagang paglaban sa pamilya nila. ‘Yung pagsusumikap sa trabaho para kumita ng pera. Nakakabilib lang talaga. Lalo na ‘yung mga kwento ng mga biyahero, ngayon nakaka-guilty kapag nakikita mong ay ganoon pala nangyayari sa kanila kapag hindi sila nababayaran,” Yassi added.
[It's also good that "Black Rider" will showcase the survival mode of Filipinos, the real fight for their families. The hard work they put in to earn money is truly admirable. Especially the stories of riders, it's quite distressing to see what happens to them when they aren't paid.]
Don’t miss the upcoming action-packed episodes of “Black Rider,” weekdays on GMA Telebabad at 8 p.m.
