Jon Lucas dubbed 'most hated villain on primetime' as Calvin in 'Black Rider'
Jon Lucas has earned the ire of viewers for his role as Calvin in "Black Rider."
According to Nelson Canlas's report on "24 Oras," Thursday, Jon has already been called "most hated villain in on primetime TV" right on the very first week of the series.
Jon's character, Calvin Magallanes, is the son of the leader of Golden Scorpion syndicate played by Raymond Bagatsing. He gets involved in a road rage incident with Elias Guerrero, a delivery rider played by Ruru Madrid.
When Elias fights back against Calvin, he takes revenge by killing the delivery rider's pregnant wife Bernice (Kylie Padilla) and their daughter Andrea.
"Thankful po ako sa lahat ng manonood natin dahil nababasa ko naman lahat ng mga komento nila. Kung nagagalit man sila ay natutuwa naman ako dahil ang ibig sabihin nga ay nagiging epektibo po tayo sa palabas po," Jon said.
Aside from killing Elias's family, Calvin's crimes also include raping a police officer and shooting one of his goons at the crotch.
On Instagram, Jon thanked the viewers for tuning in to "Black Rider." He also posted a photo of his character, Calvin, and fans could not help but express their anger in the comments section.
"Kuya gigil na gigil ako sa ginawa mo kanina bat ka ganyan," one fan said.
"Nakuha mo inis ko Calvin pinatay mo mag-ina ni Elias," said another.
Others expressed their admiration for Jon as an actor.
"Ang bagong kontrabida ng kanyang henerasyon goes to you Jon. Effective and worth portraying role. Congrats," a fan wrote.
"You're so the next super villain in the making!" another said.
"Black Rider" also stars Kylie Padilla, Yassi Pressman, Katrina Halili, Matteo Guidicelli, Philip Salvador, Empoy Marquez, Janus del Prado, Jayson Gainza, Rainier Castillo, and more.
The series airs weeknights on GMA Telebabad at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras."
