Carla Abellana on playing dual roles with Beauty Gonzalez on 'Stolen Life': 'Ang hirap pong hindi mabaliw'
Carla Abellana and Beauty Gonzalez have gotten closer on the set of “Stolen Life” thanks to their portrayal of dual roles.
“Stolen Life” follows Lucy (Carla) who gets married to the wealthy and loving Darius (Gabby Concepcion).
Meanwhile, Lucy’s cousin and Darius’ assistant Farrah (Beauty) experiences the total opposite and dreams of having Lucy’s life.
To get her dream life, Farrah uses astral projection to switch bodies with Lucy. Darrius sees the drastic changes in Lucy, whereas Lucy has to deal with the consequences of Farrah’s life.
At the show’s grand media conference on Thursday, Carla and Beauty opened up about playing two opposite characters.
According to Beauty, she prepared twice for the role, saying, “I think of them as individuals. I did my research."
Carla meanwhile considers the dual role her the hardest acting job yet.
“Napakahirap," she said. "Pinaka mahirap sa mga nagawa ko.”
“Ang hirap pong hindi mabaliw dun sa pag-switch po ng character,” Carla said.
Still, she said the experience was “mahirap pero enjoy.”
“It’s a good release or way para mag-release yung naipon na energy,” Carla said.
She added that as much as they want to have more time to prepare, they have to get into Lucy and Farrah’s characters right away.
“Eventually, nakasanayan ko na rin,” Carla said.
Beauty said she loved watching Carla take on the two roles, too.
“Ang saya-saya nga eh. Sobrang nakakatuwa to see her play two different attitudes and characters,” she said.
The actresses added the writers and directors also guided them with their characterizations.
Joining the cast are Celia Rodriguez, Anjo Damiles, Lovely Rivero, Divine Grace, and Patricia Ysabel, with the special participation of Marissa Ricketts.
