Ruru Madrid says 'relatability' is the most important aspect in teleseryes: 'Nabibigyan po namin sila ng inspirasyon'
Following the success of his recent projects, Ruru Madrid has definitely learned the importance of a teleserye’s relatability for the viewers.
In a media interview with his fellow “Black Rider” stars, the Kapuso Primetime Action Hero was asked how big the role of relatability is when it comes to making teleserye projects.
“I guess ‘yun po ‘yung pinakamahalagang aspeto pagdating po sa paggawa ng kahit anong kung anong programa,” Ruru answered, saying it is a must that the audience can relate to the story so that they continue to tune in.
[I guess that is the most important aspect when it comes to creating any kind of program.]
“As an actor, our goal is to entertain people, and parang in that way, nabibigyan po namin sila ng inspirasyon,” he added. “I mean, ‘yung napapanood po nila, maaari po nilang gayahin, ‘yung napapanood nila, maaari pong ‘yun po ‘yung maging outlet nila sa mga nararamdaman po nila, especially kapag may mga pinagdadaanan po sila.”
[As an actor, our goal is to entertain people, and in that way, we are able to give them inspiration. I mean, what they see, they might imitate, what they see can be their outlet for their feelings, especially when they are going through something.]
Ruru said that viewers tend to relate to drama and action genres because they apply the lessons to their daily lives.
“And nai-inspire sila na magligtas po ng mga tao. So, ‘yun po ‘yung pinakamahalagang aspeto pagdating po sa paggawa ng kahit na anong teleserye, ‘yung relatability,” he said.

Ruru also shared that in “Black Rider,” they invited actors from different generations.
“This project ‘di ba, we made sure na kumuha po ng iba’t-ibang actors in different generations para at least, lahat po ‘yun nasusubaybayan nila,” he said.

Ruru currently stars in “Black Rider” with Matteo Guidicelli, Kylie Padilla, Yassi Pressman, Katrina Halili, and many others.
In July, Ruru expressed his gratitude for his role, saying it is a huge honor to work with actors he looks up to.
