'It's Showtime' returns on air after 12-day suspension
“We’re back!” This was what Vice Ganda said after “It’s Showtime’s” opening segment upon its return.
Saturday’s episode started with the hosts having a grand opening song and dance number.
Following the “Showtime” theme song, Vice said, “Tapos na ang 12 days. Na-miss natin ang isa’t isa. Comebackz is realz.”
Meme Vice added that the hosts are well-rested and fully charged to make the Madlang People happy again.
“It’s so nice to be back,” she said. “And because your love for us and our love for you is larger than life, kaya naman tuloy tuloy ang paggawa natin ng happy memories kasama kayo, Madlang People.”
Jhong Hilario made sure to thank the hosts and team of “It’s Your Lucky Day,” which aired during “Showtime’s” suspension.
“Maraming maraming salamat po dahil itinuloy niyo ang paghahatid saya sa lahat ng Madlang Ka-Lucky. Syempre si Luis Manzano and of course the lucky stars, maraming maraming salamat.”
Vice added, “Ang ganda ganda nung na-provide nilang entertainment at ang pagsasalo with the Madlang People.”
The hosts also thanked the Madlang People for their continued support for the show even when it was off-air.
“We are forever grateful na may tahanan kami na ang tanging hangad lamang ay magpasaya sa abot ng aming makakaya,” Jhong said.
"It's Showtime” was suspended over a scene between hosts Vice Ganda and Ion Perez during the "Isip Bata" segment on July 25, allegedly portraying “indecent acts.”
After “exploring all our remedies and options,” and a denied reconsideration, ABS-CBN decided not to appeal to the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).
“It’s Showtime” was temporarily replaced by “It’s Your Lucky Day,” with Luis Manzano as the main host.
During their time off, the “It’s Showtime” hosts spent time in Hong Kong. —Nika Roque/JCB,GMA Integrated News
