Rabiya Mateo, Jeric Gonzales on why they didn’t join Sparkle Spell 2023: 'We got scammed'

Rabiya Mateo and Jeric Gonzales didn’t make it to this year’s Sparkle Spell.

On Sunday, the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 posted an Instagram Story expressing sadness for missing out on the Halloween event.

“Won’t be able to attend the Sparkle Spell tonight,” Rabiya wrote.

“We got scammed,” she added.

The Kapuso actress didn’t detail the unfortunate incident they experienced. Instead, she posted a boomerang selfie of herself and Jeric making sad faces.

Rabiya was among the celebrities raring to go to the much-awaited Halloween party. In fact, she even posted a gym selfie ahead of the event, flaunting her abs in the mirror and saying it was in preparation for Sparkle Spell.

GMA News Online reached out to Rabiya for a statement, but she has yet to reply as of posting.

Last year, Rabiya dressed as Princess Jasmine for Sparkle Spell and was quickly spotted sitting beside her then ex-lover Jeric. Shortly after, they announced their rekindled romance.

Here's hoping Rabiya and Jeric find resolution to the unfortunate turn of events — and that they make it to next year!

This year's Sparkle Spell was the party. Barbie Forteza, Sassa Gurl, and Derrick Monasterio were among the stars who received an award that Night.
