Taylor Swift releases 'The Cruelest Summer' to thank fans for support
Swifties can now sing along to one of Taylor Swift’s iconic bridges in new ways!
Taylor Swift just dropped “The Cruelest Summer,” a compilation of one of her well-loved hits. It includes the original “Cruel Summer,” its live version from The Eras Tour, and a brand new remix by LP Giobbi.
On Instagram, the singer-songwriter said she released the compilation to thank fans for their “truly [mindblowing]” love and support for “The Eras Tour Concert Film.”
“I’ve been watching videos of you guys in the theaters dancing and prancing and recreating choreography, creating inside jokes, casting spells, getting engaged, and just generally creating the exact type of joyful chaos we’re known for,” Taylor said.
She added, “One of my favorite things you’ve done was when you supported ‘Cruel Summer’ SO much, I ended up starting The Eras Tour show with it.”
Taylor decided to release the compilation with these reasons in mind, and “so we can all shriek it in the comfort of our homes and cars.”
“Thank you, so much, forever, wow, just thank you!!!” she said.
Taylor is in the middle of The Eras Tour, which will take her to Europe and Asia next year. She will hold a six-day residency in Singapore — uh huh, as in play six dates in the Little Red Dot in March 2023.
Our girl is unstoppable. After releasing “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” last July — with a music video for “I Can See You (Taylor’s Version) (From the Vault),” starring ex-boyfriend Taylor Lautner, Joey King, and Presley Cash — Taylor is releasing “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” on October 27.
Thank heavens she still has a life outside her career. Taylor has been in the entertainment headlines after hard-launching her new relationship with footballer Travis Kelce.
