Celebs rave about realistic love, raw acting in 'Five Break-Ups And A Romance'
Even the stars could not help but gush like fans after watching Alden Richards and Julia Montes's film "Five Break-Ups And A Romance."
According to Aubrey Carampel's report on "24 Oras," Wednesday, the film received applause and standing ovation from the star-studded audience during its premiere night.
The one and only Megastar Sharon Cuneta was among those who couldn't help but feel extra proud of Alden and Julia, whom she called her "kids."
"It's a beautiful love story na alam mo 'yung hindi OA, very real, very realistic, tapos ang galing ng performances nilang dalawa, so I'm very proud of my kids, iyan ang daughter and son ko," she said.
Shaira Diaz, EA Guzman, Sanya Lopez, Jo Berry, Rodjun Cruz, Bianca Umali, and Ruru Madrid were also present at the premiere night.
"Grabe 'yung rawness nung acting ni Alden at saka ni Julia, damang-dama mo," Shaira said.
"Naiiyak ako pero kailangan kong pigilan kasi 'yung katabi ko hindi ko matapik," Sanya said.
Jo was impressed by how the film gave a different meaning to breakups, while Rodjun said, "Umpisa pa lang, pasabog na."
Support from friends and fans continued to pour in during the movie's Sparkle block screening, which was attended by Kapuso Primetime Princess Barbie Forteza.
GMA Network, Inc. Senior Vice President Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes was also present at the Sparkle block screening with Sparkle Vice President Joy Marcelo and GMA Director Dominic Zapata.
Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes was delighted after seeing the viewer's reactions.
"Talagang hindi nila napigilan na pumalakpak sa ending, so I'm very happy na nagustuhan nila 'yung pelikula," she said.
Alden and Julia were grateful for the positive feedback.
"Sana kung ano 'yung effect ngayon sa mga tao na nanoood, ganon din sa mga makakanood pa," Alden said.
"So this time mapakita namin sa kanila yung masterpiece ni Direk Irene, and then maparamdam namin kung gaano ito ka-special sa amin, dun pa lang panalo na kami dun," Julia added.
"Sana nagustuhan nila, sana naantig sila kahit papaano, 'yun, at sana masabi nila sa lahat ng tao," the movie's director, Irene Villamor, said.
"Five Break-Ups and a Romance" officially hits local cinemas on Wednesday.
The movie first made entertainment headlines last April when news broke that Julia and Alden would headline their first film together.
Last month, the movie teased fans with an emotional scene drop, which earned millions of views on social media. A short clip of a steamy kissing scene between Julia and Alden also got fans hyped.
