Julia Montes talks about friendship built with Alden Richards on 'Five Breakups and a Romance' set

Julia Montes has nothing but kind words for her “Five Breakups and a Romance” co-star, Alden Richards!

On Wednesday’s “Unang Hirit,” Julia said the Sparkle star’s good attitude radiates on screen.

“Si Alden, kasi ‘pag nakikita mo naman po siya sa screen, talagang mabait eh. Kita mo na nagra-radiate na ‘yun eh,” the actress said.

According to Julia, Alden also constantly commends her rawness when he is just the same.

“Kaya ko na-appreciate ‘yung friendship, kasi bibihira po ako magkaroon ng close [friend] talaga na guys, isa siya dun. And talagang na-appreciate ko ‘yung personality niya off-cam,” she added.

At last week's press con, Julia even turned emotional as she described Alden as "really generous and talented."

She revealed coming into the film "na mataas yung self-doubt but these two wonderful people, [Alden and direk Irene] made me realize I can do it. Sila ang nagtiwala." 

On "Unang Hirit" meanwhile, Alden describes Julia as an “ideal” person.

“Pumasok po agad ‘yung [word na] ideal. That’s how she is as a person,” he said.

“Ramdam mo ‘yun when you see her on screen. Tapos, very raw, walang pretension, walang ka-plastikan sa katawan,” Alden continued.

On "Unang Hirit," Alden revealed he actually directed one of the movie’s scenes.

“Actually, nasa trailer po siya,” he said. “Ire-reveal na lang po natin siya ‘pag showing na.”

Written and directed by Irene Villamor, "Five Breakups and a Romance" first made entertainment headlines last April when news broke that Julia and Alden would headline their first film together.

Last month, the movie teased fans with an emotional scene drop, which earned millions of views on social media.

“Five Breakups and a Romance" will hit cinemas on October 18.
