'Running Man PH' cast had the funniest workshop prior to filming
Given their diverse personalities, the cast of “Running Man Philippines” themselves did not know whether they would work as a group. But the workshop they underwent before taping proved that they’ve got undeniable chemistry!
In Mikael Daez’s behind-the-scenes Instagram Reel, the Runners could be seen taking turns answering questions and then hitting each other in the head with toy hammers.
Kapitan Mikael called it the “Running Man PH” origin story.
“Sa totoo lang, I wasn’t close to any of the runners before the show started,” the actor and content creator said. “Even within GMA prod team, they were probably wondering kung magwwork 'yung group namin.”
“Because of that, they got us together for a quick workshop—parang icebreaker and get-to-know-you session," he added. "We played some 'Running Man' minigames, had fun and the rest is history[.]”
“Running Man Philippines,” the local adaptation of the hilarious Korean variety show, was one of the top series of GMA Network last year. The cast included Mikael, Ruru Madrid, Glaiza De Castro, Buboy Villar, Kokoy De Santos, Lexi Gonzales, and Angel Guardian.
The cast formed a strong friendship and spent months filming in South Korea. Angel was the first ultimate runner.
The Runners get together from time to time, even attending Glaiza’s second wedding ceremony with Irish businessman David Rainey in Zambales. They also celebrated Buboy’s birthday together and met up for a chill night.
