Michael V. named among comedy icons of Philippine showbiz by FDCP
Michael V. was honored as one of the comedy icons of Philippine showbiz during the closing ceremony for the 3rd Philippine Film Industry Month of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) held in Muntinlupa last week.
In Tuesday's "Unang Balita" report, Bitoy was seen delivering an acceptance speech, discussing the challenges faced by today's comedians.
According to the Kapuso Comedy Genius, comedy becomes harder with every generation.
"We get more and more restrictions when it comes to making jokes and punchlines," he said.
But despite the challenges, Bitoy assured he will continue innovating in the field of comedy.
“Kahit gano’n ang sitwasyon, asahan niyo po na hindi ako titigil maghanap ng paraan para kahit papaano, mapangiti at mapatawa kayong lahat,” he said.
[Despite the situation, you can be assured I will keep trying and finding ways to keep you laughing and smiling.]
Along with Bitoy, FDCP honored other comedy icons including Ai-Ai del as Alas, Eugene Domingo, Vice Ganda, and the late Comedy King, Dolphy, among others.
Michael V. is among the leads of GMA's Sunday comedy show "Bubble Gang." He recently went viral for his diss tracks "Uhaw," and other parodies like "Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw" and "Raining in Manila."
