Celeste Cortesi wants to play a kontrabida someday

Celeste Cortesi is out to achieve her goals!

She is one of the newer talents of Sparkle GMA Artist Center who renewed their contracts with the management at the Signed for Stardom event on Friday, and she is looking forward to fulfilling one of her dreams, which is to act.

“I've always wanted to step out of my comfort zone, to be honest. And since I'm done with pageantry now — chapter's closed — I wanted to try something new and I’ve always wanted to act, so I think that's what I'm looking forward to,” Celeste said during the program.

In fact, Celeste said she wants to play a villain because it is a good challenge.

“I’ve always wanted to be kontrabida,” she said.

“You know in beauty pageants, you're always expected to act a certain way, to always be you know, nice, which I am,” she added with a smile. “But since we're acting, I wanted to try the kontrabida role.”

Celeste also thanked GMA Network and Sparkle for giving her these new opportunities.

The beauty queen represented the Philippines at the 2022 Miss Universe pageant. She passed on her crown to pageant sister and fellow Kapuso artist Michelle Dee.

Celeste was recently tapped as a part of the selection committee of Miss Universe Egypt and a judge of Miss Universe Thailand. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
