Radson Flores says playing 'Voltes V: Legacy's' Mark taught him that 'it's okay to be different'

Radson Flores’ breakout role was playing the aloof yet confident Mark Gordon in “Voltes V: Legacy.”

After a contract signing as one of the new ambassadors of the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s Buhay Ingatan, Droga'y Ayawan (BIDA) Campaign, GMA News Online was able to have a quick chat with the rising Sparkle star about life after appearing in the live-action series.

Radson said that after “Voltes V: Legacy,” he gets recognized a whole lot more but that he also misses some parts of his old life, such as being able to commute. However, Radson remains grateful for the new opportunities.

He learned an important lesson from portraying the rodeo champion and Volt Bomber pilot who was often considered an outcast.

“Pinaka natutunan ko sa kanya is it’s okay to be different,” Radson said. “Parang it’s okay to be a misfit, you should be proud of it.”

He added that it’s okay to not blend in with the crowd all the time.

“Okay lang na naiiba ka,” the actor said. “There’s nothing wrong with it. Just be yourself.”

“Voltes V: Legacy,” the live-action remake of the iconic anime series, took years in the making. Its epic finale aired on GMA Network on September 8. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
