David Licauco gives special shoutout to Barbie Forteza as he renews contract with Sparkle

It’s been a stellar year for David Licauco, what with his roles in “Maria Clara at Ibarra,” “Maging Sino Ka Man,” an upcoming film, plus several endorsements and business opportunities.

So when the Pambansang Ginoo renewed his contract with Sparkle GMA Artist Center on Friday, he made sure to thank those who have been with him throughout his showbiz journey.

David thanked his managers, which include Sparkle Vice President Joy Marcelo. “I think si Ms. Joy 'yung one of the first managers na nagtiwala sa ‘kin.”

He also thanked executives GMA Network Senior Vice President for Programming, Talent Management, Worldwide, and Support Group and CEO of GMA Films Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes, Sparkle Senior Talent Manager Tracy Garcia, and Sparkle's Consulting Head for Talent Imaging and Marketing Lawrence Tan, his handlers, and the rest of the team.

But of course, David could not pass up on the opportunity to thank his ka-loveteam Barbie Forteza with a special shoutout before leaving the stage.

“Gusto ko lang magpasalamat kay Barbie for, you know, being a good partner sa industriyang ‘to, [sa] showbiz,” David said.

“Kasi syempre, na-i-inspire ako sa kanya. 'Yung sipag niya sa acting is very contagious eh. So thank you so much,” he added.

David also talked about his journey and breakout stardom, which he described as “overwhelming kasi never ko siya in-expect na mapunta ko sa position na ‘to.”

With this, the actor makes sure to work hard in everything that he does, “kasi bihira lang ang ganitong opportunity."

He added, “And to be given this platform you know, to inspire people and parang mapasaya mga tao, I think hindi ko siya pu-put to waste. So I’m just really, you know, really, really happy.”

“Maging Sino Ka Man,” starring David and Barbie, airs weeknights on GMA Telebabad at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras." It is also livestreamed on the GMA Network YouTube channel and GMANetwork.com/KapusoStream.
