Juancho Triviño earns hate anew as Gilbert in 'Maging Sino Ka Man,' enjoys his villain era
Juancho Triviño is having fun acting as a villain on primetime!
On Instagram, Wednesday, Juancho shared several photos from the set of "Maging Sino Ka Man," where he plays the antagonist Gilbert.
In the photos, he posed with co-stars Jeric Raval, Antonio Aquitania, and Juan Rodrigo, who all play bad guys in the series.
"My villain era diary... Nae-enjoy ko itong kontrabida roles ah, to be honest. I'm sure iba ang experience n'yo 'pag napapanood ako, pero IRL bati tayo ah? Sports lang," he wrote in the caption.
Before playing Gilbert, who wants to kill Barbie Forteza's character Monique so he could inherit her mother's company, Juancho played Padre Salvi in the hit historical portal fantasy series "Maria Clara at Ibarra."
He was so effective as the hated priest in "Noli Me Tangere" that his performance led to hilarious bashing from outraged viewers.
Fans quipped that Padre Salvi was reincarnated as Gilbert, as Juancho played both roles so well.
"Eto ka na naman nanggigil na naman ako sa 'yo eh! Ang gwapo mo na nga ang sungit at killer ka pa!? Mapepektusan na naman kita Padre Panot este... Don Gilbert," one fan said.
"Isa 'to sa nagpapainit ng ulo ko tuwing gabi," another said.
"Maging Sino Ka Man" is a remake of the iconic '90s film starring Sharon Cuneta and Robin Padilla. The original Gilbert was played by Edu Manzano.
The series is a reunion project Barbie, Juancho, and their "Maria Clara at Ibarra" co-star David Licauco, who plays Carding.
"Maging Sino Ka Man" airs weeknights on GMA Telebabad at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras." It is also livestreamed on the GMA Network YouTube channel and GMANetwork.com/KapusoStream.
