Kyline Alcantara to return to kontrabida role in 'Shining Inheritance' adaptation
Kyline Alcantara is set to play kontrabida again in the upcoming Philippine adaptation of the 2009 hit K-drama "Shining Inheritance!"
According to Nelson Canlas's report on "24 Oras," Wednesday, Kyline last played an antagonist role five years ago in "Kambal, Karibal."
"Natatakot po ako sa ibang bagay naman. Natatakot ako bilang kontrabida ulit, bilang maging kontrabida ulit kasi kung dati pong comfort zone ko siya, ngayon hindi na po so kinakabahan po ako," Kyline said.
Kyline will star with Kate Valdez, Paul Salas, Michael Sager, and Coney Reyes.
The project also marks Kate's transition from her usual kontrabida image following "Unica Hija."
"Marami naman palang tao na naniniwala na 'Ah, nakakaawa naman pala talaga siya, hindi siya masungit.' So I think baka 'yun din po 'yung nagustuhan nila at makita nila ngayon na 'sige, 'wag muna natin pagtarayin si Kate,'" Kate said.
Meanwhile, Paul feels excited to be working with Coney.
On their first meeting, he already had some conversation with the actress, who will play his grandmother in the series.
"Sabi ko 'parang ang sarap niyo pong ka-trabaho ah,' parang sinabi ko sa kanyang ganyan. 'Yes. Pero 'pag work, work sa akin,' sabi niya. So dun mo makikita 'yung pagka-professional. And iba talaga dun 'yung importante rin sa kanya 'yung samahan ng iisang team," Paul said.
Coney, who is now in her fifth decade in the industry, has been careful in selecting which projects to accept.
"Pine-pace ko rin ang sarili ko. I love to work, I love my work. And I want to be very, very careful and a good steward of what God has given me. So I just want to make sure that when I use it, I use it for good. Hindi lang 'yung basta-basta," Coney said.
They will also be joined by Sparkle stars Roxie Smith, Glydel Mercado, and more.
"Shining Inheritance" originally starred Lee Seung Gi, Han Hyo Joo, Moon Chae Won, and Bae Soo Bin.
The story follows a woman from a rich family who suddenly loses everything after the death of her father.
