Liezel Lopez pays tribute to her character in 'Voltes V: Legacy' after finale
Liezel Lopez wrote a touching tribute for her “Voltes V: Legacy” on-screen partner Martin Del Rosario, and their characters Zandra and Prince Zardoz.
Ahead of the final episode, Zandra sacrificed her life for her love, Prince Zardoz. Emperor Zambojil Zu (Christian Vasquez) was supposed to kill Zardoz, but Zandra shielded him.
In the epic finale, Zardoz fell into an abyss after Zambojil triggered a bomb detonator that caused the floor to crack. Even though Steve Armstrong (Miguel Tanfelix) tried to save him, Zardoz chose to die.
On Instagram, Liezel posted a photo with Martin, along with a touching piece about Zandra and Zardoz’s love story.
“I'd like to think that Zardoz is now with his Najmi where he is loved and cared for and Zandra is happy to finally be free with her Jomfre,” the actress said.
“I'm grateful to spend 3 years working with an actor as passionate as you @martinmiguelmdelrosario and all of the cast and crews building this Legacy,” Liezel added.
She also thanked all the supporters of the live-action series.
Martin likewise stayed in character in his comment.
“Sa wakas nagkita na rin tayo sa kabilang buhay Najmi, mahal ko,” he said.
“It was a pleasure working with such a great actress like you @liezel.lopez. Til next time,” Martin added with a winking emoji.
As Prince Zardoz and General Zandra, the two went on several dates on Terra Erthu. In an interview on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” Liezel admitted to having a crush on Martin.
“Voltes V: Legacy” is a live-action remake of the iconic anime series. Before its airing on GMA Network, a film cut titled “Voltes V: Legacy: The Cinematic Experience” first screened in cinemas in April.
