Mikoy Morales to play David Licauco's sidekick in 'Maging Sino Ka Man'

Mikoy Morales is the new "Libag" in the upcoming "Maging Sino Ka Man" series!

According to Cata Tibayan's report on "24 Oras," Wednesday, Mikoy's role will bring more fun to the show as the best friend of David Licauco's character, Carding.

Libag was originally played by Dennis Padilla in the '90s film of the same title.

"Si Carding nakipagbardagulan, ako 'yung nababardagol. Dawit ako dun sa action and nae-enjoy ko gawin 'yung mga action," Mikoy said.

"Mas palaaway kasi talaga 'yung environment na kung nasan 'yung characters namin so takaw kami sa gulo, takaw kami sa mga sindikato," he added.

Mikoy was recently named Best Actor at the Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival for his performance in the film "Tether."

Meanwhile, David said he is enjoying doing action scenes despite the body pain he gets from all of the physical work.

"Na-realize ko na mas gusto ko pala 'yung action. It is something na hindi mo kasi nagagawa in real life. 'Di ba hindi ka naman nakikipag-away in real life, 'di ba? Well, it's just different and maganda 'yung may bago sa buhay," he said.

"Minsan mase-strain 'yung likod mo kasi takbo ka nang takbo and talon-talon. And 'yung knee mo, minsan medyo magsi-stiff the next day, masakit na 'yung katawan mo the next day, 'yun 'yung masaya kasi gusto ko 'yung ganun," David added.

Even before the series started airing, veteran action stars Jeric Raval and E.R. Ejercito were already impressed by David's skills and said that he could be the next Ace Vergel and the next Rudy Fernandez.

"Maging Sino Ka Man" marks David's return to GMA Telebabad with Barbie Forteza, following their incredibly successful love team in the historical portal fantasy series "Maria Clara at Ibarra."

The special limited series will premiere on September 11.

Other cast members include Juancho Triviño, Jean Garcia, Tonton Gutierrez, Faith da Silva, Jean Saburit, Rain Matienzo, and more.
