Mike Enriquez honored at German Moreno Walk of Fame in Eastwood

A small tribute was set up at Mike Enriquez’s star on the German Moreno Walk of Fame in Quezon City.

In a photo posted by Eastwood City, a framed portrait of the late broadcaster was placed on top of the star along with a lit candle and several bouquets of flowers.

“For the decades of [hard work] delivering information to millions of [Filipinos] here and abroad, your star will continue to shine as much as your passion, enthusiasm, and honesty,” the statement by Eastwood City said.

Enriquez passed away on Tuesday at the age of 71. The GMA Network pillar entered the broadcasting industry in 1969, then became part of the network in 1995. He served as a journalist for 54 years.

Enriquez took a medical leave in December 2021 to undergo a kidney transplant and returned to work in time for the 2022 election coverage.

He is best known for being an anchor on "24 Oras," and "Imbestigador" and the DZBB programs "Super Balita sa Umaga" and "Saksi sa Dobol B."

Fellow "24 Oras" anchors Mel Tiangco and Vicky Morales turned emotional as they reported his death. Tributes from fellow reporters such as Pia Arcangel and Kuya Kim Atienza also quickly poured in.
