Yasmien Kurdi talks about old alleged rivalry with Nadine Samonte

Yasmien Kurdi denied there was a rivalry between her and Nadine Samonte.

On Friday’s “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” the Sparkle star was asked if the rivalry allegations were true.

“Wala! Siguro yung mga parents. Char!” Yasmien quipped in response.

The King of Talk proceeded to recall a story about Yasmien and Nadine in a beauty salon.

“Inaayusan si Nadine, nandun ka rin. Hindi ko alam kung sinong nagsabi sa inyong dalawa: ‘Dapat mas maganda ako sa kanya,’” Boy said.

“Wala akong naalala,” Yasmien said, laughing. “Grabe ka! Wala akong naalala, Tito Boy ha!”

She added, “Baka joke yun, kasi mahilig kami minsan maglaro-laro tsaka joke-joke."

Yasmien and Nadine were were part of the first season of the reality talent competition “StarStruck, and according to Yasimien, they are actually "good friends."

“Si Nads naman, wala naman din talagang rivalry na yung personal. Siguro, it’s more competitive kami during that time,” she said.

“Healthy competition siya kasi before ‘StarStruck,’ we used to go to VTRs together. Lagi kaming nasa final castings together," she added.

In fact, Yasmien said it was Nadine who was constantly chosen for the role.

“Lagi akong yung ano, yung natatanggal so lagi akong cry kasi mahirap, Tito Boy. Like for example, para makuha mo yung isang commercial, mga five VTRs yung pagdadaanan mo,” Yasmien said.

While Nadine took a break from show business to focus on her family, Yasmien would constantly check up on her to ask when she plans to return.

"Lagi akong nag-a-ask sa kanya. 'Kelan ka babalik? Sayang yung career mo'," Yasmien narrated.

Both actress are set to star in the upcoming series “The Missing Husband.”

They are joined by fellow cast members, Rocco Nacino, Sophie Albert, Jak Roberto, Joross Gamboa, Cai Cortez, Shamaine Buencamino, Michael Flores, Maxine Eigenmann, Bryce Eusebio, and Patricia Coma.
