Jeric Raval tried to audition as a rapper before becoming action star

Did you know that Jeric Raval tried auditioning as a rapper first before he became an action star?

On Wednesday's episode of "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," Jeric recalled that he went to OctoArts, a recording studio, back in 1990.

However, the production company also opened a film division, which was looking for actors.

"Nakita ako nung Willy Millan," Jeric said. "Tinanong niya ako kung gusto ko mag-artista. Sabi ko, 'Gindi ho, gusto ko maging rapper eh.' 'Hindi, puwede kang maging action star.'"

"Eh hindi naman ako naniniwala that time dahil ang porma ng action star noong araw [iba], [ako] may malaking bling-bling, may malalaking singsing, the usual na old school na rapper," he added.

Jeric did a photoshoot and after seeing how the pictures turned out, he began warming up to the idea of becoming an action star.

For his first project, he took on the role of Primitivo Ebok Ala, the mortal enemy of the character Baby Ama.

Jeric is set to star in the upcoming action-packed series "Maging Sino Ka Man" with Barbie Forteza and David Licauco.
