Rocco Nacino reveals he was supposed to work in US but auditioned for 'StarStruck' instead

Rocco Nacino revealed that before he auditioned for "StarStruck," he was actually already planning to fly to the United States and work as a nurse.

In an interview on "Surprise Guest with Pia Arcangel," Rocco said that after getting his nursing license, he was preparing to enter the medicine field.

"I was licensed so ang plan ko was either go to the States, work, stay there, come back after X number of years and start investing dito sa Pilipinas," he said.

"Or tahakin ang totoong dream ko, maging isang doctor, isang pediatrician, stay here and nagre-ready na ako mag-apply sa isang school," he added.

Rocco said he was doing TV commercials on the side, but it was not his real plan.

He worked as a call center agent for a few months and used his earnings to pay for the acting workshop.

"Then towards the end, kalagitnaan ng workshop na 'yun that was the audition for 'StarStruck,' so I wasn't able to finish the workshop sa ibang network, tapos dahil nga napasok ako sa Top 14 and then nag tuloy-tuloy na until nakita ko na, oh ito na talaga 'yung passion ko," he said.

In 2010, Rocco was named the Second Prince in the fifth season of "StarStruck."

He is set to star in the upcoming series "The Missing Husband" with Yasmien Kurdi, Jak Roberto, Sophie Albert, Joross Gamboa, Nadine Samonte, Shamaine Buencamino, Michael Flores, Maxine Eigenmann, Cai Cortez, Bryce Eusebio, and Patricia Coma.

Directed by Mark Reyes, "The Missing Husband" will begin airing on GMA Afternoon Prime and Pinoy Hits on August 28, Mondays to Fridays at 4:05 p.m.
