Cai Cortez says Yasmien Kurdi is the ‘pinakamabait na artista sa GMA’
For Cai Cortez, Yasmien Kurdi is the kindest star of GMA Network!
In a media conference, Cai shared how she was “pleasantly surprised” after working with the Sparkle star for the first time.
“First time ko po naka-trabaho si Yas, and I am pleasantly surprised kasi she’s so warm and caring,” Cai said. “Nagkukwentuhan kami about motherhood behind the scenes sa standby area, pero pagtapak na pagtapak sa eksena, grabe yung shift sakanya, nagiging Millie talaga sya.”
“Hindi na sya si Yasmien, sinapian na sya,” she continued.
[It's my first time working with Yas and I am pleasantly surprised because she's so warm and caring. We would talk about motherhood behind the scenes in the standby area but as soon as she steps into the scene, she instantly shifts into her character, Millie.]
Cai also likened Yasmien’s acting skills to the process of making coffee.
“Ang joke ko nga po sa kanya, ‘ayan oh, nagka-kape na naman si Yasmien.’ Ibig sabihin, nagtitimpla na naman sya. Nagtitimpla sya kung gaano kadaming kape, gaano kadaming cream, kung ibibigay na ba niya dito,” she said.
[I would joke with her, 'there goes Yasmien making her coffee. Because when she acts, she's like making coffee. How much coffee is she using? How much cream? how much of herself is she putting in?]
Cai added, “As an actress po, ang dami kong natutunan sa kanya, mga techniques, and kahit in life, ang dami ko pong natutunan.”
[As an actress, I'm learning so much from Yas - techniques and even life lessons.]
“So, I am so lucky to have gained a new friend sa kanya and to have worked with Ms. Yasmien Kurdi, ang pinakamabait na artista ng GMA!”
Cai and Yasmien are set to star in the upcoming series “The Missing Husband.”
They are joined by fellow cast members, Rocco Nacino, Sophie Albert, Jak Roberto, Joross Gamboa, Nadine Samonte, Shamaine Buencamino, Michael Flores, Maxine Eigenmann, Bryce Eusebio, and Patricia Coma.
Directed by Mark Reyes, “The Missing Husband” will begin airing on GMA Afternoon Prime and Pinoy Hits on August 28, Mondays to Fridays at 4:05 p.m.
