Kean Cipriano once joined 'StarStruck,' made it to Final 14

Did you know that Kean Cipriano once joined "StarStruck" Season 3 and he actually made it to the Final 14?

On Wednesday's episode of "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," the King of Talk surprised Kean and his wife Chynna Ortaleza with a footage of his days on the talent search program.

The embarrassed singer-actor said he did not really want to revisit that phase of his life, but launched into the story anyway.

"Nung time niya 'yun 'yung nanay ko gusto niya akong mag-artista," he said.

Kean, however, has other plans for his future.

"Hindi ko siya gusto talagang gawin," he said. "Kasi mas gusto ko na i-pursue 'yung music, parang gusto ko na sumugal at tumalon sa pagbabanda, pagsusulat ng kanta."

In the video, Kean said he and his mom were actually fighting because he did not want to continue the competition anymore.

He eventually backed out, a decision that his mom did not understand at first because the opportunity was already in front of him.

"Hindi ko siya rin magagawa nang tama kasi hindi ako masaya," Kean said.

But even as he followed his gut back then, Kean still ended up doing what his mom wanted—he eventually became an actor and even a director.

Kean is a former vocalist of Callalily. He and Chynna are now managing their own record label, O/C Records.

They have been married since 2015 and have two children: Stellar and Salem.
