Gabbi Garcia reveals her 'My Destiny' role was an 'accidental role only'

Did you know that Gabbi Garcia’s first role was only supposed to be a cameo?

In an interview on “Surprise Guest with Pia Arcangel,” Gabbi revealed that her role as Nicole Perez in the series “My Destiny” was an “accidental role.”

“My first show was actually an accidental role only, so siguro the biggest blessing pa rin would be talaga my first show, kasi if it wasn't my first show, syempre hindi naman ako makakapag-Enca din,” the Sparkle star said.

She continued, “My first show kasi was ‘My Destiny,’ ano siya talaga sobrang surprise siya kasi I was supposed to have a cameo role lang.”

The actress said that her role was just supposed to give way to opening a new plot in the story, “but I guess my character worked or the angels aligned for me, I don't know, na prolong ang character ko hanggang sa naging regular yung character ko doon, so I was super new."

“I was about, I was just like months pa lang ako signed with GMA with Artist Center, with Sparkle. Ya, siguro parang wala pang 5 months,” Gabbi added.

In 2016, the GMA telefantasya “Encantadia” had a remake that starred Gabbi as the new Alena.

In a YouTube video, Gabbi shared that Encantadia was “one of the most memorable projects I've ever done. It gave me the biggest break but then, I also learned a lot.”

Gabbi is currently part of the main cast of GMA and ABS-CBN’s collaboration “Unbreak My Heart.”

She co-stars with Joshua Garcia, Jodi Sta. Maria, and Richard Yap.

“Unbreak My Heart” airs Mondays to Thursdays at 9:35 p.m. on GMA Telebabad, Pinoy Hits, and I Heart Movies, and on GTV at 11:25 p.m.
