After 11 years, Benjamin Alves receives first acting nomination!


Benjamin Alves just received his first acting nomination after 11 years in the business.

On Instagram, the Kapuso actor shared the happy news about his nomination from the ASEAN International Film Festival and Awards, posting photos taken in Malaysia.

“After 11 years, it does feel good that somehow you’re being noticed," Benjamin said. "Thank you to ASEAN International Film Festival & Awards for the nomination," he added, tagging the award-giving body.

The Sparkle star added that it was “already a pleasure just being invited to attend the festival.”

Benjamin, who was accompanied by his fiancée, Chelsea Robato, was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor category for his work the 2022 film "Angkas (The Back Ride)," which stars Joem Bascon and Meryll Soriano. It was directed by Rain Yamson. 

He currently stars with Herlene Budol and Rob Gomez in the GMA Afternoon Prime series "Magandang Dilag," which airs weekdays at 3:20 p.m. after "Abot-Kamay Na Pangarap."

Benjamin and Chelsea plan to tie the knot in 2024.

They first confirmed their relationship in 2019 and have since taken everyone with them in their colorful life filled with love and travel.

In a recent wedding fair, the two gave a glimpse of how they would look when they walked down the aisle. They dressed up as a bride and groom and quipped that it was their pre-prenup photoshoot.
