Alden Richards credits Boy Abunda for his 'reinvention' as host

Alden Richards will be hosting the upcoming "Battle of the Judges" and on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" Friday, Asia's Multimedia Star credited the King of Talk for his reinvention as host.

"Believe it or not, it really came from that moment, when we talked," Alden revealed to Tito Boy his role on this particular career move.

Hosting isn't a new thing for Alden. In fact he most recently played host in the Miss Universe Philippines 2023 coronation event.

But there was something about Boy Abunda that convinced Alden he could do it too.

"After talking to you, paglabas mo nga po, nung naguusap kami ni Kuya Jose (Manalo), sabi niya 'ibang klase talaga 'tong si Tito Boy'."

According to Alden, Boy Abunda has a particular command whenever he walks into a room. "He knows what he's talking about, walang sayang na salita," he recalled what he told Jose.

While he did not disclose what Boy told him, Alden said it was "an honor for me to have heard those words from you."

Meanwhile, Boy said Alden struck him as open and excited to learn new skills.

"Nakaka-proud sabihin na as a host, I have Boy Abunda as a mentor," Alden said, before showcasing a sample of his hosting chops.

"Battle of The Judges" is a talent competition that will begin airing on GMA come Saturday, July 15.

Hosted by Alden Richards, the show features four prominent personalities — Boy Abunda, Ms. Anne Gozon-Valdes, Jose Manalo, and Bea Alonzo — who will each lead their teams in a fight to become the first-ever ultimate champion. — LA, GMA Integrated News
