Bea Alonzo, Alden Richards address rumored rift in 'Start-Up PH'

Bea Alonzo addressed the rumored rift between her and Alden Richards when they worked on their series "Start-Up PH" last year.

On Thursday's episode of "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," the King of Talk asked the Kapuso actress whether that issue was truth or a lie.

Bea first said it was truth, acknowledging that they had some conflict, but quickly clarified it was a lie and said that they have already patched things up.

"Nagkaroon kami ng sama ng loob but 'di kami nag-away," she said.

When Tito Boy asked if what they had was a professional problem, Bea said yes and added that it's probably because of their different backgrounds as artists.

"I think nagkaroon lang ng mga misunderstandings while on set. But we were able to talk about it," she said.

"I remember we were on the plane going to Davao while we were promoting "Start-Up PH," pinag-usapan namin like mature people and we were able to sort things out."

According to a report on PEP.ph, Alden said the same during the media conference for "Battle of the Judges" last Sunday.

Alden is the host of the upcoming talent competition, while Bea is one of the judges along with Tito Boy, Jose Manalo, and GMA Network Senior Vice President Annette Gozon-Valdes.

"Hindi namin gets kung bakit lumaki siya nang ganun na parang naging out of hand siya," he said about their rumored rift.

The Sparkle star said they got busy with their projects so they could not speak much to the media and explain the situation.

"It's a very light misunderstanding na kailangan lang talagang pag-usapan, and never naman kaming hindi naging OK," Alden said.

"Kasi it's always about open communication. And nung napag-usapan naming dalawa 'yun, tinawanan lang namin siya at the end of the day," he added.

"Start-Up PH" was the Philippine adaptation of hit Korean series "Start-Up" starring Bae Suzy, Nam Joo Hyuk, and Kim Seon Ho.

Alden played the role of Tristan (Han Ji Pyeong) or Good Boy, while Bea played Dani (Seo Dal Mi).

Last year, Bea threw a thanksgiving party for the series and thanked Alden for helping her organize the event.

Alden and Bea were supposed to star together in the film "A Moment to Remember," but the actress later begged off the project due to schedule issues.

Catch Bea and Alden in "Battle of the Judges," which will premiere on Saturday at 7:15 p.m. after "Pepito Manaloto."
