Paolo Contis, Isko Moreno sign long-term contracts with TAPE Inc.

Paolo Contis and Isko Moreno on Saturday inked long-term contracts with TAPE Inc.

Present at the contract signing were TAPE Inc. President and CEO Romeo Jalosjos Jr., Chief Financial Officer Bullet Jalosjos, and legal counsel Atty. Maggie Abraham-Garduque. GMA reps include Sparkle GMA Artist Center Vice President Joy Marcelo and Senior Talent Manager Tracy Garcia.

The signing comes at the heels of the rumors claiming that “Eat Bulaga” will be ending by July 29. Garduque has since denied the claims.

Garduque said that the only thing ending will be the show's 43rd year, as that will be the day of their 44th anniversary.

“Maraming inihandang surpresa ang ‘Eat Bulaga’ bilang pasasalamat sa mga manonood, sa patuloy na pagtangkilik ng mga ito sa longest running noontime show, ‘Eat Bulaga,” she said.

“Ang blocktime agreement ng tape with ‘Eat Bulaga’ ay until 2024, thus it is committed to give fun, entertainment, and help to the people for 45 years and beyond,” she added.

Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey De Leon resigned from TAPE Inc. in May, with mainstay hosts Maine Mendoza, Paolo Ballesteros, Ryan Agoncillo, Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, Allan K, and Ryzza Mae Dizon following suit.

“Eat Bulaga” went back on air in early June with a new set of hosts that also include Betong, Buboy Villar, Mavy and Cassy Legaspi, and Alexa Miro.

Meanwhile, “It’s Showtime” made a strong debut on GMA Network’s GTV on July 1 and became the top trending topic on Twitter worldwide. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
