Ahead of “Bubble Gang” relaunch, Kokoy de Santos reveals love for comedy since younger days

"Bubble Gang" cast member Kokoy de Santos revealed that ever since his younger days, he has been into comedy.

On Friday’s “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,” he talked about his interpretation of the quote “Dying is easy, comedy is hard.”

“Para sa ’kin po, ang dating sa 'kin nung phrase na ‘yon, ako kasi simula nung bata ako, ang hilig ko talagang, kumbaga sa genre, is comedy,” the Sparkle star said.

He continued that he has always been a fan of light and feel-good works and acknowledged the effort put into such output.

“Gusto ko light, sobrang saya lang. Pero hindi lahat ng nagpapasaya sa 'yo is madali. Parang behind it, parang hirap din talaga, sa totoo lang, magpatawa,” Kokoy noted.

The King of Talk then commended Kokoy for his acting skills.

“Kokoy has always been an actor to my mind, you’re one of the best young actors in this country,” Boy said.

Kokoy is part of “Bubble Gang,” which is moving to a new time slot at 6pm every Sunday.

It will now include three new cast members: Cheska Fausto, EA Guzman, and Buboy Villar.

In November 2022, "Bubble Gang" celebrated its 27th anniversary with a special show, including a spoof on socialite Small Laude.

The comedy show's 27th-anniversary special also aired Michael V's take on the trending song "Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw," which netizens lauded, including "Drag Race Philippines" finalist Eva Le Queen. — Carby Basina/LA, GMA Integrated News
