Rainier Castillo to make acting comeback in 'The Black Rider'
"Starstruck" alumnus Rainier Castillo is set to return to TV!
Rainier will be joining Ruru Madrid and Jon Lucas in GMA's upcoming full-action series "Black Rider."
This marks Rainier's television comeback after stepping away from showbiz.
In 2020, Rainier explained his decision to quit the industry.
"May time na medyo nakakapagod na rin talaga. 'Yun bang hindi ko na rin halos nakakasama 'yung family ko, lalo na kapag occasion na Pasko, ganyan," he said.
Rainier grew popular in 2004 after being named "StarStruck" Season 1's First Prince.
His batchmates include Mark Herras, Jennylyn Mercado, and Yasmien Kurdi.
On Monday, "The Black Rider" had their first taping day in Binondo, Manila.
Jayson Gainza, Empoy, Dustin Yu, Saviour Ramos, Joaquin Manansala, Vance Larena, and Kim Perez were also in some of the scenes.
Online star Salome Salvi and rapper Shanti Dope were also present on the set.
For his lead role, Ruru trained in mixed martial arts and, of course, motorcycle riding.
"The Black Rider" also stars "Unang Hirit" host Matteo Guidicelli.
