Vice Ganda says guesting on GMA shows are among her fondest memories
Vice Ganda has definitely come a long way from her time in comedy bars.
Before she became the "It's Showtime" host and Unkabogable Superstar, Vice was also once a freelance artist who only guested on GMA Network and ABS-CBN shows.
In an interview on the “Updated with Nelson Canlas” podcast, Vice looked back on her time guesting on Kapuso shows like “SIS,” “Comedy Central Market,” “S.O.P.,” and even a singing contest on “Eat Bulaga” and said these guestings are among her fondest memories, especially her appearances on “S.O.P.”
“Kasi most of the time 'pag nasa ‘S.O.P.’ ako si Regine [Velasquez-Alcasid] ang kasama ko sa number, eh alam mo naman patron saint ko si Regine 'di ba?” Vice said.
She recalled one of Asia’s Songbird’s birthday numbers, where Vice and her friend and, singer Anton Diva, belted it out with Regine.
In the course of their conversation, Nelson reminded Vice of when she would visit Regine’s home back then.
“Binibigyan kami ng damit ni Anton,” she said.
Meanwhile, Meme Vice recalled being on “SIS” and said "ang babait nila Janice, ni Carmina atsaka ni Gelli, atsaka 'yong staff doon mababait. Tapos ilan doon mga naging kaibigan ko."
Looking back, the comedienne and TV host said that heading to the GMA Network Center was a “napakalaking achievement.”
Vice and the rest of "It's Showtime" made a splash on their GTV debut last Saturday.
At last week's contract signing event, GMA Network’s Chairman and CEO Felipe L. Gozon said that “TV war is over.” ABS-CBN’s Carlo Katigbak meanwhile thanked GMA for the kindness.
