‘It’s Showtime’ hosts Anne Curtis, Ogie Alcasid, Vice Ganda recall previous projects with GMA Network
Nostalgia is in the air!
In Nelson Canlas’ report on “24 Oras,” Thursday, “It’s Showtime’s” hosts Anne Curtis, Ogie Alcasid, and Vice Ganda took a trip down memory lane and looked back on their previous shows with the Kapuso network.
Anne admitted that coming back to GMA Network felt “nostalgic.”
“I've always been able to still work with my GMA family even when I became a Kapamilya, I was able to do a film and promote. So, it's just nice to also be back from where my first TV shows came out on so it is nostalgic,” she shared.
Anne’s showbiz career started in 1997, when she starred in the teen-oriented show “T.G.I.S.” and in the drama series “Ikaw Na Sana.”
She was also in the comedy show “Beh Bote Nga,” “Anna Karenina,” and “Idol ko si Kap.”
For Ogie Alcasid, the collaboration is “very emotional.”
“Meron akong history sa GMA and I am creating a new history with ABS-CBN. Parang ano siya, alam mo yung dalawa mong magulang na nagsama. So para sa anak, it’s very emotional. But more than that, it’s a sense of gratitude,” he said.
Ogie is well-known for his appearances in “S.O.P.,” “Bubble Gang,” “Show me da Manny,” and “Hanggang Kailan,” among others.
Vice Ganda also became sentimental and enumerated the Kapuso shows she was in.
“Sa GMA talaga ako nagsimula kasi yung first TV appearance ko, sumali ako ng singing contest sa ‘Eat Bulaga,’ first variety show na guesting ko sa S.O.P. Tapos ang una kong teleserye sa GMA din, yung ‘Saang Sulok ng Langit,’ tapos ang una kong comedy show sa GMA din yung ‘Comedy Central Market.’ Tapos unang morning show ko ‘Sis’ kasi nag-semi reg ako sa ‘Sis’ dati,” she shared.
Vice Ganda earlier expressed her gratitude to GTV for giving "It's Showtime" a new home and promised that they would not waste the opportunity given to them.
“It’s Showtime” signed a contract with GMA Network’s GTV on Wednesday and will start airing on GMA’s GTV starting July 1.
GTV broke the internet on Tuesday following the announcement of "It's Showtime" airing soon on the said channel.
