Ricci Rivero asks bashers to spare family, friends following parents’ mall incident

Ricci Rivero asked his haters to spare his family and friends from all the hate.

On Tuesday’s “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” Ricci recounted his parent's incident at the mall, where strangers approached them just to say their son was a cheater.

According to the basketball star, he made a deal with his family and friends to not speak up amid speculations surrounding his breakup with actress Andrea Brillantes.

But because his loved ones are beginning to bear the brunt of hatred, Ricci decided to break his silence.

Kailangan ko nang magsalita for all of us kasi lumalaki na yun — ang dami nang nadadamay eh,” Ricci said.

He continued, “Kahit yung mga walang kasalanan nadadamay na. So sana naman yung mga ganitong issues, especially if you guys don’t know the whole story ‘di ba, especially both sides.”

Earlier this month, Ricci confirmed his breakup with Andrea on Twitter, asking fans to respect their decision to keep the split private.

Among the rumors that surfaced following the news was his alleged romantic involvement with former beauty queen Leren Bautista, which Ricci also denied.
