‘Nine Perfect Strangers’ S2 has Dolly De Leon joining the cast
Dolly De Leon is among the new cast members of the second season of “Nine Perfect Strangers.”
The Filipina actress will work alongside Nicole Kidman, who will be returning as the Hulu show’s star and executive producer, a report by Deadline said.
More cast members include top actors, two-time Oscar nominee Liv Ullmann, Emmy winner Murray Bartlett, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, and Aras Aydin.
“Nine Perfect Strangers” is based on the novel by Liane Moriarty. It follows nine stressed strangers from the city who gather for a 10-day retreat for transformation and healing at a wellness resort. However, the retreat is not what they thought it would be, and controversial secrets are uncovered. Nicole plays Masha, the resort’s director.
Dolly made history by being the first Filipina to be nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture for “Triangle of Sadness.” She was also nominated for a BAFTA and attended the Oscars.
Following her international nominations, Dolly said “I've become a happier person.”
She finished filming "Grand Death Lotto" for Prime Video and "Between the Temples," an independent film.
Dolly also recently served as the jury chair of the first Summer MMFF, and was honored with the Annual Achievement Award by the Film Development Council of the Philippines. — Nika Roque/LA, GMA Integrated News
