David Licauco reacts to birthday ad on the SM Mall of Asia globe

David Licauco was touched upon seeing the special birthday gift recently arranged by his fans.

The fan group called Aking Sinta lit up the SM Mall of Asia globe with an advertisement for the Pambansang Ginoo.

Based on a fan video obtained by Sparkle GMA Artist Center, the globe showed some of David’s scenes as Fidel in “Maria Clara at Ibarra.” The globe also flashed the text, “Happy birthday, Pambansang Ginoo, David Licauco.”

The birthday ad ran from 6 p.m. to midnight.

David reacted to the fan project in a series of tweets.

“Love you guys,” he said.

“Still in disbelief from all the love,” he added. In another, he said, “Appreciate [you] guys @akingsintaDAVID."

David celebrated his birthday on June 15. The other half of the BarDa love team, Barbie Forteza greeted him, “Maging masaya palagi at wag pababayaan ang sarili. Congrats sa lahat!”

“Thank you so much, Binibining Klay!!!” David replied to her.

Klay and David starred as Klay and Fidel in the hit GMA show "Maria Clara at Ibarra." They are currently working on their next project "That Kind of Love," filmed in South Korea.

Meanwhile, "Maria Clara at Ibarra" is available for streaming on Netflix.
