Moira Dela Torre speaks up on cheating, ghostwriting allegations
Moira Dela Torre has spoken up against the cheating and ghostwriting allegations made against her.
In a statement on Instagram, the singer said she was compelled to stand up for herself and protect her integrity.
"I never imagined that I would find myself in a situation where I have to explain and defend my decision to leave a marriage, as well as justify the state of my mental health,” she said.
Moira said it was “disheartening” that she is being questioned and asked to prove her worth as an artist.
Wanting “to set things straight once and for all,” Moira said, “Let me be clear: I have never employed a ghostwriter.”
She added that throughout her career, she is fortunate to have collaborated with talented artists who all respect and acknowledge their contributions.
“Every song I have created is a true reflection of my deepest emotions and experiences,” she said.
“I am fully prepared to provide evidence that supports this truth, including screenshots of conversations and recordings of my songs, which will undoubtedly validate and disprove the harmful accusations made against me,” she added.
Moira also denied claims that she cheated on Jason.
"It is unfair that I find myself in a position where I have to defend my name and even explain why I did not deserve to be cheated on," she said.
The singer-songwriter said that her current focus is her healing journey, “as the weight of trauma still lingers heavily in my heart.”
Her statement comes at the heels of composer Lolito Go's now-viral post, in which he accused Moira of being a liar.
Lolito alleged that Moira inquired about his ghostwriting rates in 2022. “When I told her my price, tinawaran nya ako for 20k per month. I felt so insulted. But I just kept that to myself."
He also defended Moira’s ex-husband Jason Marvin Hernandez many times throughout his Facebook post. He said, “Moira is more of an oppressor than a victim."
“Walang third party on Jason's side... His only sin was he listened to the call of flesh and availed of illicit massage service because Moira couldn't fulfill his sexual needs."
Lolito also claimed that Moira wanted to separate because she already found someone new.
Jason and Moira split in May 2022. In a statement, Jason admitted that he had been unfaithful.
He has since been releasing heartbreak songs, including “Ikaw Pa Rin,” wherein the music video features clips of his wedding with Moira.
Meanwhile, Moira has also been releasing new music, such as “ikaw at sila,” which seems to be a response to their duet “Ikaw at Ako.”
Moira is also touring the world and the Philippines, and is set to release a new album.
