Martin del Rosario opens up on intense sword fights in 'Voltes V: Legacy'

The fight scenes in the upcoming series "Voltes V: Legacy" can get pretty intense. One scene between stars Martin del Rosario and Miguel Tanfelix even resulted in a small accident.

On Nelson Canlas's report on "24 Oras Weekend," Sunday, Martin talked about the sword fights he had to do with Miguel.

The Sparkle actor, who plays antagonist Prince Zardoz, said his sword once ran across Miguel's forehead when their blades slid against each other.

"Siyempre nag-apologize ako and si Miguel—sobrang mabait 'yun. Wala sa kanya 'yun. No big deal," he said.

Martin also said their props are heavy and they also wear a harness for some fight scenes.

As Prince Zardoz, he wears a costume with horns on his head.

"Mahirap, mahirap 'yung costume kasi una, layer, layer siya—mainit. Mainit talaga siya kahit isang fight scene lang 'yung kukunan, 'yung pawis ko talagang tagaktak. Ang daming suot sa 'yo na bakal-bakal tapos 'yung horns kinakabit," he said.

As for Zardoz's personality, Maritn said he was not born evil.

"Parang pag naintindihan mo 'yung background niya, kaya lang naman siya naging insecure kasi parang parati siyang laging pinapatunayang magaling siya kasi ang totoo niyan ang gusto niya acceptance na hindi niya makuha kuha," he said.

"Voltes V: Legacy" will start airing on May 8, Monday, at 8 p.m. on GMA.
