Barbie Forteza looks back on pandemic work struggles: 'Should I reveal some skin or say yes to kissing scenes?'

Barbie Forteza got real in one of her latest Instagram posts about how she worried about job opportunities at the height of the pandemic.

The Kapuso Primetime Princess posted a photo from her "very first personal shoot" from 2020.

"I thought of making one because a lot of celebrities are doing it and I didn't want to be left out," she said. "I felt really pretty and important that day but it did cost a bit hahahaha!"

Barbie added that the shoot was done because she felt "scared" and had made a lot of big decisions during the pandemic.

"Everything felt unsure and I guess one of the reasons why I did this shoot was to be aesthetically active on social media for job opportunities, hopefully," she said.

With this, the actress asked herself at that time, "What else can I do? Can people still appreciate me for just giving my best in acting? Should I reveal some skin or say yes to kissing scenes? Am I being too reserved? What's next for me?"

But things eventually fell into place for Barbie. Her family's dream house is coming together, she has just finished a successful run "Maria Clara at Ibarra," and still has "so much to look forward to."

"I am beyond grateful to everyone who believed in me when even I started to doubt myself and to everyone who now appreciate the work that I do," she said.

Before ending her post, Barbie had some encouraging words for those who are going through a tough time.

"I want you to know that you can do it. Your struggles will make your success more valuable," she said.

The award-winning actress added, "Now, time to roll up my sleeves. Got a lot of work to do[.]"

Barbie is currently shooting her film with David Licauco, "That Kind of Love."
