Tito Sotto hurt over statement about 'retaining' TVJ in 'Eat Bulaga': 'Para namang napakakawawa namin'

Tito Sotto said he's hurt by the statement that he, Vic Sotto, and Joey De Leon will be "retained" in "Eat Bulaga" amid the controversies surrounding the show.

In an episode of "Updated with Nelson Canlas," the "Eat Bulaga" mainstay said he found the statement "improper."

"Masagwang pakinggan sa amin 'yung mare-retain kami," he said. "Para bang puwede kaming sipain, e kami nga ang 'Eat Bulaga.'"

Tito also advised Television and Production Exponent Inc.'s (TAPE), which produces "Eat Bulaga," to be careful with their statements because it could hurt the people comprising the program.

"Kami pigil na pigil kami, pagkatapos biglang babanatan n'yo kami ng ganyan," Tito said.

"Mabibitawan kami ng salita na ire-retain kami. Ha? Para namang napakakawawa namin. I think it's improper, that kind of statement is improper," he added.

In an episode of "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" last week, TAPE chief financial officer and Dapitan Mayor Bullet Jalosjos addressed the speculations surrounding "Eat Bulaga." He said that TVJ will stay in the show.

"They've always been a part and will always be a part of 'Eat Bulaga.' Kahit baliktarin natin, hindi talaga sila pwedeng mawala, and 'Eat Bulaga' can't live without TVJ, and personally, I think, TVJ also cannot live without 'Eat Bulaga,'" he said.

"Updated with Nelson Canlas" has reached out to Jalosjos and is waiting for a response.

In the same interview, Tito said he's disappointed with the current situation of TAPE and "Eat Bulaga." He also clarified several things about the ongoing controversy rocking the longest noontime show, such as its financial status and rumored changes to the program.
