Boobay opens up about friendship with Tekla

Boobay and Tekla host "The Boobay and Tekla Show," but have they always been friends, and has their friendship always been fun and funny?

On "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" on Thursday, Boobay opened up about their friendship.

When asked if they've ever felt ticked off by the other, especially with their punch lines, Boobay considered the beginning of their gig together on the show. 

"Parang sa una, parang nagbabasahan pa lang kami at nagpapakiramdaman," he began.

He estimates it took them three months before they finally got the groove of each other. 

When asked if there have ever fought, Boobay recalled a moment that happened in the dressing room.

"Lagi siyang walang shaver, ako nagpapahiram sa kanya palagi," Boobay said.

"Sabi ko, 'Nag-shave ako tapos gagamitin mo rin sa ulo mo,'" the comedian added.

"Pero, alam mo 'yun, napahiram ako sa kanya so ibig sabihin, friends na kami nun," Boobay said, laughing.

As for how Boobay does his comedy, Boobay said, "Nag-a-adjust ako sa audience. Halimbawa, kung 'yung ano ko ay sa live audience sa comedy bars, iba din 'yung way 'ko na nagpapatawa at iba din pag sa TV. May dalawang part 'yan."

Boobay won the Best Supporting Actor award for the movie, "Broken Blooms," at the Saskatchewan International Film Festival in Canada in 2022. — Kimberly Tsao/LA, GMA Integrated News
