Dingdong Dantes sports a mullet and blond highlights as ‘Royal Blood’ starts taping
Can you imagine Dingdong Dantes with a mullet and blond highlights? Now, you don't have to as Dingdong sported the new hairstyle on the first day of taping for his upcoming murder mystery series, "Royal Blood."
"Parte 'yan sa pagbuo ng isang character," Dingdong said.
As seen on Lhar Santiago's Thursday report on "24 Oras," Dingdong's character on the show is a delivery rider named Napoy.
"Mahal siya ng tao sa kapaligiran niya. Tapos, may anak siyang isang napaka-cute na babae at makikilala niya 'yung tatay niya na mayaman pala," Dingdong said.
On the first day of shooting, Dingdong was joined by co-stars Rabiya Mateo, Benjie Paras, John Feir, and Arthur Solinap.
"Napakasaya kasi si Kuya Benjie. Nakatrabaho ko na at happy ako to be with him again. Syempre si John Feir, si Arthur," said Dingdong.
Dingdong said he worked with Arthur on the show "Encantadia" 15 years ago, and that it's his first time to work with Rabiya.
In addition to his acting gigs, Dingdong also hosts "Family Feud" Philippines and the upcoming singing competition show, "The Voice: Generations," on GMA.
"May kanya-kanyang araw. At tsaka, basta huwag silang mag-alala, 'yung mga pinapanood nila e, mananatili 'yan," he said.
"And madadagdagan pa," he shared.
The actor and host also shared that he balances the work with resting and spending time with his family. Dingdong is married to Marian Rivera and they have two kids, Zia and Sixto
"May panahon po kami para makipaglaro po talaga sa isa't isa sa mga bata so, talagang 'yung oras na 'yun ay ginamit namin para sa amin, pampamilya," he said.
The upcoming series, "Royal Blood," will air on GMA. It will also star Mikael Daez, Megan Young, and more.
Aside from “Royal Blood,” Dingdong has also been preparing for the GMA Public Affairs film “Firefly,” which also stars Max Collins, Miguel Tanfelix, and Ysabel Ortega. — Kimberly Tsao/BM, GMA Integrated News
