'Stand For Truth' documentary, Atom Araullo honored at 2023 Lasallian Scholarum Awards

The "Stand For Truth" documentary "Runaway Child Brides: Ang mga Kuwento ng mga Tumakas sa Buya" and Kapuso broadcast journalist Atom Araullo bagged accolades at the 2023 Lasallian Scholarum Awards.

"Runaway Child Brides," a documentary by Lilian Tiburcio and Bryan Brazil, won Outstanding Video Feature Story on Youth and Education after tackling the sensitive topic of child marriage.

Araullo, meanwhile, won the inaugural Outstanding Media Personality Award for his achievements as a documentarian, especially his work on the youth and education.

"Maraming mga pagsubok mula sa local issues natin hanggang sa global issues like climate change. Journalists should be at the forefront, and we should also inspire other people, users of media, na gamitin ang kanilang galing para labanan ang ganitong klase ng problema," said Atom.

Atom hosts "The Atom Araullo Specials" and tells stories on "I-Witness." He occasionally serves as anchor for "24 Oras."

Meanwhile, the New York Festivals TV & Film Awards recently shortlisted a total of nine GMA programs, including two "The Atom Araullo Specials," "Maria Clara at Ibarra," and more documentaries.
