Juancho Triviño bids Padre Salvi goodbye: 'You renewed my appreciation sa craft ko, maaari ka nang magpahinga'

"Maria Clara at Ibarra" is airing is finale tonight and the cast and crew are bidding it goodbye.

On Instagram, Juancho Triviño joined the farewell with a heartfelt video.

"When I received the role of Padre Salvi, I was scared to death," he began.

Juancho said it wasn't just because of the pressure but because going out of the box really scares him.

"At sa show na Ito, it wasn't just going out of the box but jumping out of the box ang kinailangan ko gawin," he said.

Apart from not knowing what people would think, playing Padre Salvi was far from what he and his management had been working on the past 11 years since he joined showbusiness.

"Nakakatakot but despite the fear, I had a lot of excitement," Juancho said. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity."

Among those he thanked were director Zig Dulay for giving him "a safe space to play with Padre Salvi" GMA executives Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes and Ma'am Lilybeth Rasonable "for entrusting me with Padre Salvi," his cast mates, as well as fans and viewers "na nagalit at nagmahal kay Padre Salvi."

"Salamat sa pag-intindi kay Padre Salvi," he said.

Juancho ended the gratitude video by thanking the character himself. "I wanna thank PS, Padre Salvi," he said. "You renewed my appreciation sa craft ko. Salamat sa lahat ng opportunities na nag-open up dahil sa you. Maaari ka nang magpahinga."

It's safe to say Juancho went over and beyond playing the character Padre Salvi. Apart from receiving — and winning! — his first acting nomination, he also brought the character out to life with cute sketches on social media, allowing viewers to develop complex emotions about him. Look: He even received a Padre Salvi action figure from a fan!

Can't believe we are going to say this, but we're going to miss (hating) you, Padre Salvi. And thank you Juancho for the rich viewing experience! — LA, GMA Integrated News
