'Triangle of Sadness' starring Dolly de Leon leads new releases coming to Amazon Prime in February
The critically acclaimed film, "Triangle of Sadness," starring Filipino actress and Golden Globe nominee Dolly de Leon will be available to stream on Amazon Prime starting February 23, 2023.
"Triangle of Sadness" is about the rich guests and crew of a doomed cruise ship whose social roles are turned upside down after a mishap at sea. De Leon portrays Abigail, a feisty toilet manager who suddenly finds herself leading a group of shipwrecked survivors.
The movie is included in the list of Oscar nominees for Best Film this year.
Other February releases on Amazon Prime include Filipino starrer, "Ten Little Mistresses," which centers on billionaire Valentin Esposo, who is widowed and wants to remarry, resulting in his 10 mistresses fighting to become his legal wife. Esposo turns up dead and the 10 women need to solve the mystery and prove their innocence. It stars Arci Muñoz, Pokwang, Eugene Domingo, Kris Bernal, and more.
Amazon Prime will also add to its slate of Korean programming this February.
In "Blooming Youth," Lee Hwan (Park Hyung-sik) is crowned prince and encounters a mysterious curse. Min Jae-yi (Jeon So-nee) suddenly becomes a suspect when her family is murdered. They work together to discover the truth behind the curse and the murders -- and a love blooms. "Blooming Youth" will drop on February 6.
"Island" Part 2 is also coming to the streamer. Based on the hit comic, half-human and half-monster Van (Kim Nam-gil), heiress Won Mi-ho (Lee Da-hee), and priest Johan (Cha Eun-woo) face forces of evil determined to take over the world. The action-packed fantasy story continues on February 24, 2023.
Season 2 of TV show, "Carnival Row," will air on February 17. Set in a Victorian fantasy world where a human detective and a fairy rekindle an affair and solve a string of murders, "Carnival Row" features Orland Bloom ("Lord of the Rings") and Cara Delevingne ("Paper Towns").
Aside from that, Academy Award winning actor Christoph Waltz ("Inglourious Basterds") and Nat Wolff (also from "Paper Towns") star in "The Consultant," a comedic-thriller series that explores the sinister relationship between the boss and employee.
