Garrett Bolden has this piece of advice for rising artists
Being in showbiz is never easy. Take it from Kapuso singer Garrett Bolden.
He started out by auditioning for various singing competitions before finally getting on "The Clash" and ending it on a high as a finalist.
This kickstarted his musical career, which eventually got him a role in the Guam production of “Miss Saigon.”
With what he’s been through, GMA News Online asked Garrett about the biggest lesson he’s learned and what he hopes to tell younger rising artists.
“Never doubt yourself,” Garrett said at a virtual press conference for his first EP album “Chapters.”
“Kasi as a young Garrett Bolden, I've always panicked about what people would tell about me or how they would laugh at me, or not take me seriously,” he added.
“Pero when you really don't mind and just focus on your craft and just, you know, share your talent — I think yeah, you'll go places if you do that. I really stopped doubting myself,” he said.
“Chapters” has five songs that chronicle the singer’s journey. It includes the previously released singles “Lilipad Na,” “Handa Na Maghintay,” “Our Love,” and “Pwede Pa Ba.” The album’s carrier single is Garrett’s revival of Kris Lawrence's song, “Ikaw Pala.”
“Chapters” will be available for download and streaming on digital stores worldwide on January 27 under GMA Music. — LA, GMA Integrated News
