'Voltes V: Legacy' stars volt in as ambassadors of GMA's anti-piracy campaign
"Voltes V: Legacy" leading stars Miguel Tanfelix, Ysabel Ortega, Matt Lozano, Radson Flores, and Raphael Landicho have volted in to be lead ambassadors of GMA's "Stream Responsibly. Fight Piracy." campaign in partnership with Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE).
On Thursday, the "Voltes V: Legacy" leads took oath to actively participate in the campaign's activities by posting key materials to their respective social media platforms.
According to Ysabel Ortega, who will play the role of Jamie Robinson in "Voltes V: Legacy," one way to be a proactive ambassador of the anti-piracy campaign is to encourage viewers to only stream shows on proper platforms.
“Kung proud kayo sa 'Voltes V: Legacy,' kung happy kayo sa nagawa ng GMA, then, of course, you can support it by streaming it on proper sites,” Ysabel told GMA Integrated News.
"Kasi the only way na uunlad 'yung media industry natin is if they comply and follow the anti-piracy campaign," she added.
Meanwhile, Miguel, who will give life to Steve Armstrong, said he would take responsibility as an ambassador by raising awareness about the disadvantages of piracy.
“Pwede ka mapahamak sa mga hindi trusted na sites and files,” Miguel said. “Doon pwede magsimula ‘yung hacking and virus.”
The partnership between GMA Network and ACE became official on Thursday, after a ceremonial contract signing event.
Among the attendees at the event were GMA Network's First Vice President and Head of International Operations Joseph T. Francia, First Vice President for Legal Affairs Atty. Lynn P. Delfin, and GMA New Media, Inc. President and Chief Operating Officer Dennis Augusto L. Caharian.
Joining them virtually also were GMA Network's Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Felipe S. Yalong, Senior Vice President for Programming, Talent Management, Worldwide, and Support Group, and President of GMA Films Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes.
Representing ACE atthe signing ceremony were Jan van Voorn, Executive Vice President and Chief of Global Content Protection for the Motion Picture Association (MPA) and Head of ACE, and Neil Gane, who represents ACE operations for the Asia Pacific region.
The "Stream Responsibly. Fight Piracy." campaign aims to help raise awareness among people, especially the younger generation, of the value of creative works. It also aims to protect and educate the public about the potential harms of clicking pirated websites and apps.
Joining the "Voltes V: Legacy" cast in the "Stream Responsibly. Fight Piracy." campaign are Sparkle star Mikee Quintos and "Maria Clara at Ibarra" actress Barbie Forteza.
These initiatives will not only ensure the protection of Filipino content creators but will also ensure the high-quality viewing experience of all Kapuso viewers and subscribers. — LA, GMA Integrated News
